The effect of pulse encoding on ultrasound attenuation images has been investigated.
It has been shown that pulse encoding does not reduce the speckle artifact
in ultrasound attenuation images.
The focus of my more recent work has been the development of a technique which
extracts features from noisy or speckled images. This technique has potential for imaging modalities
which use coherent wave sources, namely ultrasound, laser and radar.
Currently, work is being done to implement this technique on real images.
